Bill,

I support 100% your observations below. I definitely support funding for Stefania.
I will be at LA and my employer will fund my travels, so no worries about me.

I invite Grace, Carlos, and Pranesh to support this plan.

Stefania thank you for helping with the election. If you need help with the NCUC site, let me know.

Roy

Your support in pulling off the election would be very much appreciated!

Dear Bill, dear fellow ECers

first of all, apologies for being online very very little these days. Hope I haven't missed any urgent emails over the last 10 days, when I have been mostly offline. Now
writing from India (together with Carlos, small world!), where internet is lunatic. Behind on many mails...

I am wiling to join in in coordinating the election. I might be insane, but fact is I am off teaching in the fall term, so I should be able to spend some time on this.

I am also in need of financial support if I am to get to LA, but by no means I am claiming that the two should be connected. There might be people who need/deserve it more
than I do - I have already received financial support to be in Singapore and London this year.

On an unrelated matter: tomorrow I am hosting, as co-chair of the Global Communications Policy Task Force of the International Association of Media and Communication Research
(IAMCR), a roundtable on internet governance - and I will take the opportunity to advocate for people to join the NCUC :-)

Bye bye from the land of spicy everything, including breakfast :-)

Hi

This slipped through the net amidst other messages last week. ICANN already needs to know who our three covered travelers will be for LA….three months prior to the meeting,
 because of new US restrictions.

Per usual, one slot goes to the chair, who has to run Constituency Day etc., and the other two should be for people who will be doing stuff for NCUC at the meeting or more
generally, whether they be EC or regular members. In the event there are no regular members who especially stand out as needing to be there and we default to EC members, then we could take into account such factors as rotation (who’s not received support
recently), financial need (i.e. no home institution support), and most importantly commitment to do something specific for NCUC.

Re: the latter, the most pressing, non-optional task ahead will be administering the election. In the past the burden of pulling that off has fallen primarily on the chair
and someone willing to work with the member data base and help keep track of who should be getting ballots etc, in coordination with Glen. Last year this was Tapani. I’d strongly argue that the person(s) who helps with this should get travel support, if
 desired. Seems fair…

Thoughts?

Dear Bill,

In order to meet the travel and hotel deadline for the ICANN meetings in Los Angeles would you please be so kind as to let me have the names of your constituency/stakeholder group members and
the level of support that they should receive for the Los Angeles meetings. We realize that there are likely to be constituency/stakeholder Group elections before the LA meetings, but we need to provide the information no later than 16
JULY 2014. All ICANN sponsored travellers have to be cleared by the Legal department by way of the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) process, that is why a timely response
 is needed.

Please be aware that there will be a new councilor induction and GNSO Council development session held on Friday, 17 October 2014 in Los Angeles followed by an evening function on the same day.

This follows on from the successful session of a similar format previously held at the annual ICANN meeting in Buenos Aires. We will utilise the services of a facilitator and the session will
be open to the full ‘New’ GNSO Council i.e. the Council in place following the GNSO Council meeting on Wednesday 15 October 2014.

Therefore, all Councillors (in post from Wednesday 15 October 2014) will be expected to leave on Saturday, 18 October 2014. Constituency/Stakeholder Group chairs (or a designated alternate)
are invited to attend the initial part of the induction session on Friday morning. Councilors who are stepping down from their positions on the Council (on Wednesday 15 October 2014) will not attend the induction session and can thus leave on Friday 17 October
 2014.

Thank you very much.

Kind regards,

Glen
