[Ec-ncuc] EuroDig outreach

Hi from Chicago

I'm on holidays and won't be focusing on work stuff until next week, at which point there'll be a flurry of follow ups. ?In the meanwhile, on EuroDIG, thanks Ed for submitting something. ?It might be a bit of a stretch to get an NCUC-based event into the program, since EuroDIG is very different from, say, the global IGF, where anyone can submit a workshop. ?In this case it's a single integrated program that has to accommodate the diverse desires of all involved, and having participated in I think four of these on the planning teams and/or speaking I've never seen any one group be given "it's" event (including ALAC, which is Wolf and Sandra's ICANN ID). ?But if the issues are cast more broadly, with a strong Euro-focus, with some NCUCers as participants it might fly...

Nuno, thanks for taking the lead on representing, let's be in touch and if there's anything NCUC can provide during the meeting that would help let us know.

Cheers

Bill

Just getting in, Happy New Year everyone, but wanted to let folks know that, not receiving any other suggestions or proposals and getting some positive feedback, ?I did submit a proposal to Euro-Dig entitled "The role of the noncommercial user in a commercialised internet". My understanding is that Nuno is going to try to attend the EuroDig planning meeting in Lisbon on 29 January and hopefully will be able to help shepherd the proposal through the selection process. ?

It looks like we missed the deadline here:

Looking at the discussion, I'm not sure what happened -
I don't know how it should've been done: like, who could have done
what on behalf of NCUC, how it should've been decided, &c.

But perhaps our failure to talk it through in time suggests
we couldn't've been able to organize it anyway.
