Dear colleagues,

I thank you very much for your kind support.

Please find my statement of interest for the NCUC EC Africa Representative
position;

Name: Ines Hfaiedh
Declared Region of residence: Africa
Gender: Female
Employment: Educational Counselor
Conflicts of Interest : None

Being the current Executive Committee member representing Africa, I hope to
continue performing my tasks for the well running of the NCUC constituency.
Having organised and moderated the NCUC Africa webinar on DNS Abuse which
was quite successful, I hope to work even more on enhancing members'
engagement and active participation . I am confident that my experience
within ICANN and beyond would help me achieve these goals and play a key
role in the well functioning of the constituency.I wish to keep
representing my region Africa in the best way possible in the EC team while
welcoming and assisting newcomers from my region to navigate NCUC in
particular and ICANN world in general.

I am originally a teacher and I passed a number of certifications including
a national exam to get promoted to an Educational Counselor. Throughout the
years, I have specialised in ICT Implementation in Education and trained
teachers and educators in general on its efficient use. I had the chance to
be a recipient of a number of prestigious scholarships and fellowships
including the Fulbright . I am also a Diplo-certified Curator and I also
assisted UNDP New York in creating a course on Ecosystem restoration for
government officials.
I have also been in charge of the Secretariat of two editions of ICANN's
MEAC SIG (School of Internet Governance) . I am also a member of ICANN’s
Intercultural Awareness Program.
I had the chance to be a Guest Speaker and session organiser at a number of
local, regional and global IGFs and a guest at several local, regional and
international conferences dealing with human rights, accessibility, and
digital inclusion.

I enjoy some flexibility in my job as an Educational Counsellor which
allows/allowed me so far to attend in person targeted meetings and events
to fulfill my EC tasks. So I can say that I do not have limitations and I
can commit the adequate time for my EC role.

Communication is key in our EC role. I have kept communications through the
NCUC Africa mailing list in order to keep members up-dated on news and
consultation on the NCUC Africa Webinar themes and speakers.
Also I have contributed to our NCUC website with some reports and blogs on
different events or initiatives especially taking place in the African
continent.
Besides, post-ICANN meeting 'Readouts' have been a great opportunity for
our members to have the most important pieces of information about policy
discussions and topics of interest discussed at NCUC and NCSG level.

I believe that the constituency can do even more in voicing the
Non-Commercial Users concerns and defending their interests. I also hope
that we can keep a spirit of bottom-up discussions and openness with our
membership and keep them informed of current debates for more efficiency
and accountability in our contributions as a constituency.

I thank you for this opportunity and I look forward to continuing my role
within the NCUC Executive team.
