Hi everyone,
I wanted to provide you with an update on the latest from the ICANN
Nominating Committee (NomCom).
The NomCom is now officially accepting applications for open leadership
positions! This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate
about shaping the Internet's future. The available roles include leadership
positions within ICANN and, this year, a seat on the Public Technical
Identifiers (PTI) Board of Directors. This PTI role is especially unique,
offering an opportunity to guide the strategic oversight of the Internet's
unique identifiers and contribute to its unbiased management.
Applications close on *28 March 2025, at 23:59 UTC*, and more details can
be found here: go.icann.org/4gkcUnn. If you know anyone who would be a
great fit, please encourage them to apply!
Once the application window closes, the NomCom will begin its review
process, which will include sessions during the upcoming ICANN meeting in
*Seattle*. I’ll be actively involved in the application evaluations and
discussions to ensure we recommend the best possible candidates.
On another note, the Recommendations Subcommittee, which I am co-chairing
with Mike, continues its work reviewing the NomCom Operating Manual and
Handbook. Transparency and continuous improvement remain at the forefront
of our efforts, and I’ll be keeping these principles in focus as we move
forward.
Thanks for your continued support, and as always, feel free to reach out if
you have any questions or input!
Best,
James Gannon
NCUC Delegate to the ICANN Nominating Committee
