Hi Stephanie, thanks for volunteering!
Since the decision came from various specific aspects of the Operating
Procedures, there is no single reasoning behind the decision to review. The
OPs themselves ask the EC to decide on whether to review or not the OPs in
each term (Section XV, 1), so we first took a look at the whole document
and each member pointed out excerpts that potentially deserved to be
changed. We would go with “no review” only if no substantial suggestions
were made. There was no single decision on reviewing each excerpt, we tried
to be broad so the community itself (through the task force) could narrow
it down if there was an understanding that no changes were needed on that
section.
Some of those were further detailing existing procedures, some were
simplifying processes that had not been followed for at least some years,
some were about increasing accountability to the community, some were
adding conditions to occupy a position, and some were simply grammatical.
Those initial suggestions will be made available to the Task Force as well,
but for now these are just loose annotations, precisely because the process
of drafting and justifying will be developed by the Task Force, not
ourselves.
Cordially,
*Pedro de Perdigão Lana*
