Dear colleagues,
The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (*ICANN*
<https://www.icann.org/>) and the Internet Service Providers and
Connectivity Providers Constituency (*ISPCP* <https://www.ispcp.info/>)
cordially *invite you* to an *exclusive DNS hands-on workshop* on *Saturday,
9 November* 2024 at the ICANN81 Annual General Meeting
<https://meetings.icann.org/en/meetings/icann81/> in Istanbul, Türkiye.
ICANN's mission is to help ensure a *stable, secure and unified global
Internet*. Established in 1998 as a not-for-profit corporation with a
community of participants from around the world, ICANN helps coordinate and
support these unique global identifiers. Within this structure, the ISPCP
ensures that the *views of Internet service providers and connectivity
providers contribute to the achievement of ICANN's goals* and objectives.
The constituency also works to protect the interests and concerns of the
ISP and connectivity industry.
ICANN81 will be held from 9-14 November 2024 at the Istanbul Congress
Center (ICC). We cordially *invite ISPs, connectivity providers, and DNS
operators* to attend the workshop, get to know the ICANN and ISPCP
community, and become part of the global community that plays a critical
role in operating and ensuring a stable, secure, and unified global
Internet!
*We look forward to connecting with you and your colleagues from Istanbul,
Türkiye and the entire region for a joint session of networking and
training!*
Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any further questions:

Details of the workshop:
*DNS Resolvers Hands-On Lab Setting up a Reverse DNS resolution
Authoritative Resolver*

operate your own virtual server and learn how to install recursive DNS
servers (resolvers) from scratch. The instructor will explain all the
procedures and configuration lines as you execute all the commands and do
your own practice leading to a fully functional recursive DNS server. At
the end of this hands-on lab, you will learn how to install and run BIND
and Unbound DNS Recursive Servers with DNSSEC validation and some other
performance, security, and privacy considerations as well as doing some
testing using DIG command.*
*Objectives*
1. Introduce DNSSEC, its concepts and operations practices
2. Get knowledge in deploying DNSSEC (labs)

DNSSEC
4. Learn how to sign a zone (reverse zone for ISPs)

infrastructure (NS, resolvers)
- Experience with Unix/Linux systems command line interface
- Knowledge of Network and system security, cryptography and key
management: security algorithms, types of cryptography and roles, keys
