Dear all,

I would like to nominate Bruna Martins dos Santos to continue serving as NCUC Chair.

We were not in a good position when Bruna inherited this role. We were in something of a constitutional crisis with a previous Chair making important decisions in an autocratic manner, even when our Charter required otherwise. That has not been Bruna's style. Bruna has impressed me with her willingness to adhere to the NCUC Charter and internal operating procedures. And aside from being ethical, she is consultative and a good listener.

Bruna, I hope you will accept this nomination. We would very much lucky to have someone of your calibre ready and willing to continue generously volunteering their time for the NCUC. I know you are active in various ICANN working groups, and I have seen the intellectual rigour that you have brought to the public comments that you have drafted at the NCSG level, so you are undoubtedly busy. And that's before we talk about all that you do outside of ICANN. As a former legal advisor to the President of Brazil, I know that your skills in public policy, legal analysis, and advocacy are in high demand.

Finally, we have been able to salvage the Non-Contracted Parties House Intersessional, and funding for it has been secured for early next year. As Bruna has participated in the Intersessional previously, and the organization of the agenda for this important event typically falls upon constituency chairs to wrangle together, I think it is important that we have a Chair who has knowledge and awareness of how the Intersessional functions - and of how it can be improved - so that we can ensure this event continues to deliver dividends.

Best wishes,

Ayden Férdeline
