[NCUC-DISCUSS] Nomination for NCUC Executive Committee Representative from Asia-Pacific region

Dear Members,

I am very much tempted and feeling privileged to nominate Zakir SYED  for NCUC Executive Committee Representative from Asia-Pacific region.

Syed was an ICANN Fellow at ICANN 54 in Dublin and ICANN 49 in Singapore. ICANN 49 was his first ICANN meeting.

Zakir is a technology strategy and research professional having in depth knowledge of emerging technologies and innovation, policy, regulations and latest trends in the role of ICTs in different sectors. With over 7 years of experience in the ICTs, professional services, research, public policy and training industry at different levels, he had been working with a number of organizations. At present, he is   associated with different organizations both in the for-profit as well as not-for-profit and working towards achieving the macro organizational goals. 

With in-depth practical knowledge of inter-disciplinary development issues, particularly on education, health, poverty, social exclusion/inclusion including children, youth, women and rural development, he has excellent research & analysis skill coupled with strong advocacy and networking aptitude. He has contributed to a number of high-level studies on international level with different organizations including the SAMENA, ITU/UN, ICANN, ISOC, World Bank, and a number of other governmental as well as not governmental organizations. 

He is also a trainer, editor, technology journalist, writer and recently chosen to work with the Government, trade unions and commerce chambers for industries & skill development as well as trainings. Having good practical knowledge of the development policies, monitoring and evaluation, preparing evidence-based policy reports and papers; he has authored several articles on policy, development & ICT issues.

He organizes and advises on workshops, conferences and symposia programs, covering topics of interest to policy-makers, regulators and industry. 

In short he gained specialisation on Building Social Development Projects & Resource Mobilization; Networking and Advocacy; CSR; Research & Analysis, Training & Development, Project Management; Strategy; Digitization & ICTs, eGovernance, Public Policy, Social Media, Marketing & PR, Government & Industry Relations, Orchestrating Start-ups, Market Research,Team Building.

He is a perfect fit for the representation of NCUC from Asia Pacific region. Though Elsa Sade is a good candidate and a very very good friend, but I feel competition always creates transparency in the process.
