In agreement with Seun. Joining fellowship social pages are optional, is
not compulsory or mandatory.
I do recall in some instances when fellows are been ask to sign up for
ICANN booth or travel matrix etc I remember in some cases the privacy
option is been capture when signing up.
Most of us i think are very much aware of basic privacy issues, every one
you see on the fellowship social platform, i believe has consented to been
on the platform.
I no few fellows who opt not to be on the fellowship social platform and as
such decline the request and that decision was respected. In any case one
can opt out if already in or request to be taken off.
I think the fellowship program has relied on social media because of its
outreach nature (connecting the next billion).
I believe we should think more of the positive that the social media brings
to the fellowship program. Any attempt to restrict the use of social media
will pull us back and back. We can regulate it but not to the point that
will diminish the positives of the fellowship program.
Best,
Any innovative way to encourage the use of the fellowship platform should
be welcome.
