Dear NCUC members,ICANN <https://www.icann.org/>, in partnership with the
Internet Society (ISOC <http://www.internetsociety.org/>), is organizing
the fourth edition of the Middle East DNS Forum
<http://cairo2017.mednsf.org/en/>. The event, hosted by the National
Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA
<http://www.tra.gov.eg/en/SitePages/default.aspx>) of Egypt, will take
place on 22 and 23 May under the theme "Strengthening Digitial Presence in
the Middle East".
I will be taking part in the ICANN UPDATE session as described below:

The Forum will cover topics related to the global domain marketplace, with
regional perspectives from Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and new
industry trends.

Cherine Chalaby, Vice-Chairman of the ICANNBoard, and Akram Atallah,
President of ICANN's Global Domains Division (GDD), will be giving keynote
speeches at the forum's opening session. The Egyptian Minister of
Communications and Information Technology Yasser El-Kady
<http://www.mcit.gov.eg/Minister_Biography> will also address the audience
at the opening ceremony along with officials from the NTRA and ISOC.

The objective of this annual event is to bring together interested parties
from the region and world experts in the field, to share experiences and
update the audience on new developments in the domain industry on both a
global and regional level. The forum provides participants with an
opportunity to:

   - Interact with ICANN leadership and industry experts on recent
   developments and top trends in the global domain industry
   - Discuss various business, technical and policy aspects of the domain
   industry
   - Learn about new approaches to establish and expand commercial online
   presence
