I would like to commend the Board for finding the time to meet with the NCUC today on such short notice. We had not only Lousewies van der Laan in attendance, but also Ron da Silva and Kaveh Ranjbar. They all stayed until the completion of our discussion — even though we went over our allocated 30 minutes. Before we even consider their packed schedules and other community commitments, it must be said that they were very generous with their time.

I would also like to praise Renata Aquino Ribeiro, who did an exceptional job chairing the meeting and steering it along. I was very impressed. I’ve seen Renata in a few capacities before - as an educator, as a mentor, as an advocate, and as a subject matter expert - but this was the first time I’ve seen Renata communicate with a board of directors. It was inspiring. She was objective, thoughtful, got the right message across when she spoke, and was prepared for the eventual questions. Thank you so much for this, Renata. And I think we should have you asking a question to the Board later this week when we have our joint NCSG-Board meeting. You really stepped up today.

All,

Lousewies, ICANN Board member, will meet with us in Copenhagen at 16.00 on Sunday 12th March. This is a very informal talk over a cup of tea! we just tell Lousewies who we are and what we are up to.

Anyone that wants to join this informal conversation, please submit your names offlist. Someone from the EC will organize the rest.

Best
