The +1 expressions are not functional in an electoral sense.  But they 
do fulfill a social/community function in terms of public collective 
response.  They are part of our discussion as a group.

There will be a formal election at some point, secret ballot using the 
usual ICANN tally system, and that will decide the choice.

I am also happy to see two excellent candidates.  It's better not to 
have unopposed candidates for election, if only for "structural" reasons.
