[NCUC-DISCUSS] Selection of ICANN meeting venues and dates

Hi Arsène,
I do not think this is something which lends itself well to a community vote, even if the results are advisory and not binding (though imagine how we'd react if we voted in favour of something, and the Board 'overruled' us). I imagine choosing the location for a meeting entails considerable research, as well as budgetary considerations, sponsorship concerns, and a risk management review, the outcome of which I would not necessarily expect us to be privy to. I hope we can feed into the strategy which determines where meetings are held, for what purpose, and how they are structured — but personally, I am happy having ICANN (the organisation) make the final decision as to where each meeting takes place.
Best wishes,

Ayden Férdeline
