*CSC Liaison Update – Pre ICANN 57.*

Greetings everyone,

As you are aware you selected me to be the non-Registry Liaison to the
ICANN CSC (Customer Standing Committee) a number of months ago and I want
to take this opportunity to update you and your communities prior to ICANN
57 on the activities of the CSC since its formal incorporation on October
1st with the expiry of the IANA functions contract.

The CSC has met once since incorporation and also held an informal
introduction meeting between the members and liaisons to ensure that we
were sufficiently prepared for the tasks ahead of us. We have begun to do
the initial preparatory work of the CSC including administrative tasks such
as organising with ICANN support staff to get our public mailing list setup
(Can be found at https://mm.icann.org/pipermail/icann-csc/) and plan our
call and work schedules.

On our initial formal meeting the members of the CSC nominated Byron
Holland as Chair of the CSC and he was supported unanimously in this
position.

The CSC will meet face to face in Hyderabad to receive an update from
members on the IANA Service Level Expectations and to create a more
detailed work plan for the coming weeks and months. Unfortunately like many
I will not be able to attend in person but will be attending remotely.

>From my side as liaison I have a few questions for our communities just on
administrative items:

   - Can you confirm who within each of the SG/C’s that I represent I
should be in contact with to send updates such as this to to ensure that
you are able to communicate them to your member ship as needed?
   - Are the are items that are within my remit as liaison that I need to
bring to the table to be discussed after the CSC has completed its initial
work plan to get our formal processes and procedures in place?

Thank you for your time and I again apologise for not being able to provide
this update in person in Hyderabad. Please feel free to encourage anyone in
your communities to reach out to me anytime james at cyberinvasion.net

Regards,
James Gannon
