Dear colleagues,
I would like to second the nomination of Farzaneh Badii to chair the NCUC. She has been very active and productive on the EC and knows how to do this job.
I need to announce however that I will not be eligible to run for the NCUC EC again. I expect Farzaneh to be working with me at the Internet Governance Project at the Georgia Tech School of Public Policy starting January 2017, and our bylaws prohibit having more than one person from the same organization on the EC.
I will instead nominate Anna Loup for the North America EC position. I hope Anna will accept.

Dear All,
I would like to nominate Farzaneh Badii for NCUC Chair.
Farzaneh has a wealth of experience within NCUC and across a number of ICANN working groups, including among others, serving as penholder in the current revision of NCUC's bylaws and as co-rapporteur of the SO/AC accountability subgroup in CCWG-ACCT WS2. She has in-depth knowledge of both policy development processes and administrative procedures at ICANN, which she frequently shares to help newer members. Moreover, Farzaneh has been an outstanding European representative on the NCUC Executive Committee, demonstrating dedication and a commitment to transparency by sending regular updates to members and by effectively engaging in outreach.
I am confident that Farzaneh has the knowledge, experience, and commitment to NCUC to serve as an excellent Chair and am happy to give her my full support.
Best wishes,
Rachel Pollack

*Nomination Process:
Any member of the NCUC may nominate any NCUC active member either for the
position of an NCUC Executive Committee Representative or for NCUC Chair simply
by sending their nomination to this list. Once nominated, the nominee is responsible for public acceptance of the nomination and for making a public statement that includes:
* Name, declared region of residence, gender and employment;
* Any conflicts of interest;
Questions:
1. Why do you want to serve on the EC?
2. Provide a brief biography of recent experience, associations, and affiliations relevant to serving on the Executive Committee. Describe the relevance of your personal and professional experience to serve on the NCUC Executive Committee, and identify any conflicts of interests you might have.
3. The EC performs several functional responsibilities for the Constituency. What level of time commitment can you bring to your EC role on a weekly and overall basis? Describe any concerns or limitations on your ability to attend online meetings of the Executive Committee and ICANN Meetings in person.
4. Communication with the membership is critical. How would you keep members apprised of your EC-related activities?
5. How do you foresee NCUC’s function, scale, or role changing in the future? What areas of ICANN policy, if any, need more attention and why?
Incumbent candidates should answer in a manner that is both backward and forward looking, i.e. taking note of their contributions and work in the previous year. The statements should be relatively concise, e.g. a couple paragraphs per question
Election details, the nominations, their acceptance and candidacy statements will all be posted to the 2016 elections wiki page:

Finally check-in process is ongoing for those who didn't do yet for the annual NCSG election.
Best regards,
Rafik Dammak
NCUC Chair
