Dear Members,

As you know we have issued the travel support call for applicants for
Copenhagen. Based on my past experience, I would like to give you a couple
of points to consider if you are applying:

1. If you are applying as an experienced member, you need to point out to
the activities you have carried out at NCUC and ICANN. It is not simply
enough to be active in broader Internet governance spaces such as IGF. What
groups have you been involved with at NCUC or ICANN? What did you achieve
or are trying to achieve?

2. We do value activities at broad Internet governance fora and fields.
But this travel support is for you to attend an ICANN meeting and be active
at NCUC and ICANN by working on various NCUC and ICANN related issues, so
when you write your application your main focus has to be on NCUC and
ICANN. Tell us what you want to bring to NCUC and ICANN during Copenhagen
meeting.

3. If you are not experienced, do a little background research on NCUC. See
what we have done in the past and how you can contribute to it. Look
generally at the discussion list: are there calls for public comments that
you would like to work on? Any other discussion you see about a working
group you want to contribute to? If you don't find anything or feel lost,
you can reach out to other members.

We also list policy focal points in the future. They can help you get
involved.

Thanks

Farzaneh
