[NCUC-DISCUSS] NCUC 16th Anniversary Celebration in Dublin?

Hi
It doesn’t look good to do an on-site NCUC celebration, since a) the evenings are packed with events people will want to go to, and b) onsite would mean open which could mean big crowds which means pricey hotel catering and the need to fund raise etc on short notice.
Saturday there's a reception after our outreach event, and then our Councilors have a dinner. Sunday is the Fellows Reception. Monday is the gala. Tuesday is Verisign. Wednesday is the European CS reception. Thursday is the closing reception. So official drinks/nibbles every night, which makes counter-programming difficult. So instead of an 'official' NCUC thing, we could head off somewhere nearby after a reception. I am thinking the best option might be Sunday after Fellows, depending on numbers NCUC could do a dinner or at least take over a pub on our own dime (subject to EC budget approval).
In order to assess the feasibility we need to know who would attend. Hence I’ve put up a Doodle with Sunday and two other choices. http://doodle.com/poll/kinzpxergattiuvi <http://doodle.com/poll/kinzpxergattiuvi> If you’re planning on being in Dublin, please fill it in.
Thanks
Bill

We did nothing last year to celebrate our 15th anniversary, which shows some resilience as Internet-oriented civil society networks go. But if there’s sufficient interest, we could make up for it by doing something for our 16th. After all we’ll be in Dublin, hardly a bad place for libation and such. 18 October 2015 is Sunday night, and as far as I know thus far there’s nothing major scheduled that would prevent us from doing something. Or we could it after Constituency Day, on Tuesday 20th, assuming there’s no music night. This might be more sensible as we’ll have just spent the day together etc.
