[NCUC-DISCUSS] NCUC Delegate to the 2014 Nominating Committee

I hate to be the spoil-sport, since I love Rafik dearly, but I think we
might want to put someone on the Nominating Committee with wide and deep
connections to senior people in the civil society and business
communities -- who can help recruit these people to be interested and
submit their applications to the Nominating Committee for all range of
positions, from the Board, to the GNSO Council, etc.

For better or worse, I think this position benefits from deep networks
-- otherwise, I fear that our one position on the Nominating Committee
may not be used to its fullest potential.

Best,
Kathy

But of course, any member can put themselves forward for consideration for this or any other of our 'positions' at the end of a term. The defined process under our bylaws is simply that the Exec. Committee appoints the Constituency's representatives to the Nominating Committee by majority vote, with at least four members voting. So if there were more than one candidate, we'd organize a comparative assessment with candidate statements etc.
