[NCUC-DISCUSS] Interim Asian representative on the NCUC EC

I'd like to thank both Patrick and Peter for stepping up and volunteering
for this important position. I've met them both, like both of them very
much, and have been actively encouraging both of them to consider
volunteering for the open E.C. slot. I'm very happy each has decided to put
his name forward for consideration.

As Tapani has pointed out, there is some flexibility in our Bylaws for the
EC to act in exceptional circumstances when the best interest of the
Constituency calls for it. I'd suggest that having a full slate of EC
members is important and selecting a replacement for Norbet can be
accommodated under our current Bylaws, particularly if there is consensus
on the matter.  The real problem will be selecting amongst such well
qualified candidates for the position and devising an appropriate mechanism
for doing so.
