Interesting ICANN story on NPR

FUD

If people don't want to be confused they should probably stay off the
Internet altogether.

Nobody's forcing anybody.

However the FUD stories are newsworthy and thus serve a useful function in
creating awareness.

As they say no publicity is bad publicity.
