I also share the concerns expressed by others here about the way in which we (noncommercial users) have been represented in this board election process.

ICANN is constantly repeating that it is a "bottom-up" policy development forum, and that it is "accountable" to the community, and "transparent" in its decision making processes. However it would seem that ICANN has failed on each of these 3 criteria in this crucial effort for representation of noncommercial efforts at the board level.

I am also puzzled by what happened during this election and how 2 GNSO representatives of noncommercial users could support the commercial candidate for the board seat instead of the noncommercial candidate - especially given the unanimously expressed support for that individual due to her years of dedicated service to the community.

I join the others in requesting that our 6 NCSG GNSO Counselors please explain to us how they voted in the board seat election and the rationale for that support.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Best,
Robin

I don't even know who the 6 voting members of NCSG were, but i know who Mr. Graham is .... and i can assure you he never stroke me as having special affinity for non-commercial interests, however one understands them. He is a capable man, don't get me wrong, just not one that will think non-commercial first. Nor distant second, i would be inclined to think.

I mean to say that absent explanations i will be tempted to believe that the first vote was merely a ploy directed at people like me (moderately in the know) to obscure the true leaning of some voters.

I have trouble understanding how that could happen. Could those who made this switch please explain why they voted that way ?
