This report (which was commissioned by ICANN some time ago) was just released to the community: http://blog.icann.org/2010/03/vertical-integration-options-report-available-to-community/

As you know, the GNSO has launched a Policy Development Process (PDP) on the issue. A draft Charter is expected to be approved by the Council at its meeting tomorrow, at which point a Working Group (WG) will be formed comprising volunteers from each Stakeholder Group. The GNSO PDP is a parallel process to work apparently also being done by ICANN staff to produce a model on vertical integration at around the same time.
