Dear friends,
The Internet Governance Forum's Internet Rights and Principles coalition has
partnered with Association for Progressive Communications to work on a
"Charter of Human Rights and Principles on the Internet".

I hope you'll take a few minutes out of your busy schedule sometime soon to
help improve the document. The hope is to at least have a presentable draft
in time for the Internet Governance Forum in mid-November, so that it can be
shared during the forum for more discussion and further improvement.

Information about the collaborative charter-writing process can be found
here:
http://irc.wiki.apc.org/index.php/Main_Page

The draft charter is here (but please read the main page first before
editing):
http://irc.wiki.apc.org/index.php/Charter_of_Human_Rights_and_Principles_on_the_Internet

It's a wiki - so all you need to do is sign up for an account and do the
usual wiki-editing thing. Please feel free to share it with colleagues in
civil society, business, and government who you think would be in a position
to make substantive contributions.

If you have questions - technical, procedural, or substantive - please write
to Robert Bodle (Robert_Bodle at mail.msj.edu), who has kindly agreed to
coordinate this multi-stakeholder, collaborative writing effort.

Best,
Rebecca
