Good for Jamie to bring this up.
Please note that the archives of the emails of
all these task forces is available here:
http://www.dnso.org/dnso/ncarchives.html

ORG
I was Chair of the .org Task Force.
A non-NC member cannot chair a TF, so
someone must replace me. I suggest Harold
simply because he is familiar with the issues
having been part of the .us change.

Although the DNSO has completed policy
definition, the ORG process still has work to do.
NC is supposed to approve the official Request
for Proposals developed by staff. Whether that
will be done by a reconstituted Task Force or by
NC directly is not clear.

UDRP
I am co-chair of the UDRP TF. Erick is already
on that TF, so I would suggest that either
Chun or Harold replace me.

The UDRP TF has just collected "survey" forms
on the UDRP and is compiling them. The survey was
a failure and should not guide the policy revision.
Only about 200 people responded, there were too many
questions. We need to get the data on how many
of those were complainants, panelists, etc. I
suspect that very few of them were respondents or
respondent-oriented people.

The process of revising UDRP will be very interesting.
Whoever represents us on that committee should
probably be a lawyer.

TRANSFERS
I am on the transfer TF. This is a highly technical
and businesslike area, dealing with the procedures
for transfering control of domain names from one
registrar to another. It has important competition
policy and consumer protection overtones. I would
volunteer to stay on this, but I am afraid I cannot
keep up with it. It is run by Marilyn Cade of AT&T
and she prefers to work with teleconferences. also
some fairly heavy documents regarding the issues
are being exschanged, and one needs to know a lot
about he defined procedures for transfers and even
the SRS protocol. Any volunteers?
