A report by statistics firm WebSideStory indicates that "the majority of
Internet surfers worldwide are using direct navigation and bookmarks to
locate Web sites, rather than relying on search engines and Internet links."
The survey also suggests that possession of a recognizable or well-known
domain name, such as Amazon.com, is more important than ever for drawing
viewers to a given website.
