To move this issue along, this is a proposed NCDNHC resolution on the
issue of conflicts of interest and serving on the NCC Adcom. It could
probably be improved. Jamie
The DNSO is a governing body for ICANN, and the NCDNHC was created to
represent the interests of non-commerical domain name holders, in the
ICANN governance structure. In order to avoid the appearance of
conflicts of interest, no one can serve on the NCDNHC Adcom or vote in
any NCDNHC matter if they have the following economic interests with
ICANN:
1. They are or have been full or part time employee of ICANN within
the past 12 months.
2. They have done any consulting or other compensated work for ICANN
within the past 12 months.
3. They are a compensated employee, officer, lawyer, consultant,
lobbyist or agent for an ICANN regulated registrar or registry.
4. They are a compensated employee, officer, consultant, lawyer or
other agent to entity that has an application to ICANN to become
registry or registrar.
