Some claim that the entire name space is only good
for 120,000,000 names. With 2,048 TLDs, that is
an average of about 60,000 names per TLD. It appears
that .ORG is well over that. What .ORG people may
want to consider is more diversity. Using DLDs, the
.ORG people can freely launch name spaces like
-NPO.org, -FOUNDATION.org, -UNION.org, etc.
The Lame-D software can take names that have the
TLD form, and map them to the DLD form for lookup
in the IPv4 legacy .ORG servers. When the TLD is
ready to fly on its own, the back-end servers can be
pulled out.

If one assumes that there are about 3,000,000 .ORG
names, and the 60,000 average works out, then, in
theory, there may be 50 C at tegories to divide .ORG
into. It would be good to know what .ORG people
think those C at tegories would be. That can help people
figure out whether .ORG is for them.
