[Ncuc-af] [Public Comment] NextGen Program

Dear Afrimembers, chers Afrimembres,


L'ICANN a récemment publié un commentaire public  <https://www.icann.org/public-comments/draft-proposal-nextgen-2020-02-11-en> our solliciter l'avis de la communauté concernant le projet de rapport sur les améliorations possibles concernant le programme NextGen.

Pour vous donner un aperçu du projet, j'ai copié ceci:

«Le programme NextGen @ ICANN vise à élargir la participation à l'ICANN en offrant aux étudiants universitaires des opportunités de mieux comprendre l'ICANN et l'écosystème Internet. Il est destiné aux étudiants âgés de 18 à 30 ans et originaires de la région où se déroule la réunion publique de l'ICANN. Le cinquième anniversaire du programme a été l'occasion de solliciter les commentaires de la communauté sur les progrès réalisés à ce jour et d'évaluer la meilleure façon d'anticiper et de répondre aux besoins futurs de la communauté.
"
Ce programme est, à mon avis, une autre occasion pour l'ICANN de s'engager davantage avec la communauté, en particulier avec les jeunes et je ne sais pas dans quelle mesure les étudiants en Afrique sont au courant de cette opportunité. Par conséquent, je pense que nos contributions à ce commentaire public pourraient améliorer la situation.

ICANN has recently published a Public Comment <https://www.icann.org/public-comments/draft-proposal-nextgen-2020-02-11-en> to seek for community input regarding the draft report on possible improvements regarding the NextGen Program.  

To give you a background on the project, I’ve copied this:

“The NextGen at ICANN Program aims to broaden participation in ICANN by providing opportunities for university students to better understand ICANN and the Internet ecosystem. It is intended for students who are 18-30 years old and who are from the region where the ICANN Public Meeting is taking place. The five-year anniversary of the program presented an opportunity to seek community input on progress to date and evaluate how to best anticipate and meet future community needs
”
This program is, in my opinion, another opportunity for ICANN to engage more with the community especially with young people and I am not sure how aware are the students in Africa. Therefore, I think our inputs to this public comment could improve the situation.
