[NCUC E-team] When to go public with new site?

Sorry. There is a WP plugin for migrating the data, but I have not had
time this week to look at it.

But I generally concur with the opinion that the member profile data
we had was pretty poor quality (I believe Wilson has a copy of it so
you can review data file). Moreover, there was not much use of member
pages on the (to be) old site. IMO, importing old profile data into
the new site should not be a show stopper.

In fact, I would suggest engaging the membership for ideas about what
additional features would draw them to the new site before expending
serious effort.   Tapani (?) mentioned this, but one simple idea would
be to provide links to org and individual member websites on the
membership page. Ideally, it is populated by data collected during the
application, checkin process. I'm afraid relying on folks to populate
afterward hasn't worked.  Also, some sort of reliable, easy to use,
meeting and document authoring tool (like Google Hangout and the ether
pad) integrated into the website would be useful I think for fostering
interaction outside of ICANN events.  There may be other avenues we're
simply not considering for increasing social interaction among
members, lets ask them.
