Hi Benjamin,

I appreciate the invitation, and am glad we could celebrate
NCUC's Anniversary in such a thought-provoking and collective way.
Milton and Farzi led the way; you and I helped, as I am sure did
others. Andrea was very helpful too.

What made the NCUC Issues Forum special to me is that it was "not
the usual," and not something we do every day. People came
because we asked them and to celebrate NCUC and our history. It
took huge amounts of time and planning for Milton, for Farzi, for
me, and for you, and for those joined us.

It's a huge amount of time and thought, and I am tired. I also
need to see the fruits of the extraordinary labor - within NCUC.
I really think we need to be dividing the regular/significant
policy work of ICANN among NCUC members - e.g., everyone with a
travel grant from NCUC should be dividing up the important
meetings of ICANN (together and ahead of time), figuring out what
NCUC issues/concerns are involved in these (policy) meetings,
working to insert these issues/concerns into the meeting via
writing or discussion (e.g, during Q&A), and reporting back to
the full NCUC in an oral presentation (e.g, at our NCUC meeting with
a few slides to teach others the issue and acronyms
in a visual as well as oral way) and short written summary (just a
few paragraphs) of what happened at that meeting and how NCUC
should follow-up. That would be a positive, collective,
important product for NCUC as we come out of our Anniversary
year. We could have eyes and ears everywhere and be involved
in every issue important to us.

This set of NCUC eyes and ears are tired, and a little
discouraged. I must respectfully decline.

Wishing you and everyone on the Exec Committee very Happy
Holidays.
