<div dir="ltr">Sorry if I sounded a bit unapologetic in this past email, everyone. I am just a bit worried with the delayed submission of this document. </div><br><div class="gmail_quote"><div dir="ltr" class="gmail_attr">Le lun. 17 juin 2019 à 08:23, Bruna Martins dos Santos <<a href="mailto:bruna.mrtns@gmail.com">bruna.mrtns@gmail.com</a>> a écrit :<br></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0px 0px 0px 0.8ex;border-left:1px solid rgb(204,204,204);padding-left:1ex"><div dir="ltr">Hey, Ines! <div><br></div><div>With regards to deadline, I told you about this on our call and that we also had to submit it until the 10th (so I thought there would be no need to set a deadline given we all spoke about it before). Additionally, I had sent it here on the list and no one else other than Michael chimed in - but I guess its all fine. The document is written and I am submitting it soon. </div><div><br></div><div>I completely understand the concerns about the CROP not going to Africa, but considering that during the Marrakech meeting we are using two crop slots with african members I thought we could balance that out in the near future. I really wish CROP slots were back to the global status, during the FY19 only members from Asia and AF got the slots and the fact that we have to align it with the new rules makes it all a bit hard. Therefore, the way I suggested was one crop for one icann meeting, most likely Montreal, another one for one regional Internet Governance Meeting and one last to rightscon, so we can open it for the membership to decide and apply. You might also remember that the CROP slots are no longer global, and only open for use in the regions, so the IGF one is out of the table. </div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div>best, </div><div>Bruna </div></div><br><div class="gmail_quote"><div dir="ltr" class="gmail_attr">Le lun. 17 juin 2019 à 07:46, hfaiedh ines <<a href="mailto:hfaiedh.ines2@gmail.com" target="_blank">hfaiedh.ines2@gmail.com</a>> a écrit :<br></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0px 0px 0px 0.8ex;border-left:1px solid rgb(204,204,204);padding-left:1ex"><div dir="auto">Hi Bruna<div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">Thank you for this document, it s always helpful to have deadlines for the EC to chime in.</div><div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">I agree with Michael s suggestion on ICANN 66 CROP as I believe it s in the procedures to use it for the first meeting in the correspinding FY.</div><div dir="auto">For the CROP locations suggested on the doc, given that the next three icann meeting will be in NA, LAC and APAC, I think that having the 'sort of' mandatory CROP for NA, a CROP for the Global IGF in Europe and to an ICANN-related event in Africa (there are plenty such as AIS/FIFA AFRICA/DRIF etc) makes more sense. Indeed next Rightscon was announced to be in Costa Rica so this leaves no opportunity at all for NCUC Africa members to get a CROP.</div></div><br><div class="gmail_quote"><div dir="ltr" class="gmail_attr">On Mon, Jun 17, 2019, 11:03 Bruna Martins dos Santos <<a href="mailto:bruna.mrtns@gmail.com" target="_blank">bruna.mrtns@gmail.com</a>> wrote:<br></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0px 0px 0px 0.8ex;border-left:1px solid rgb(204,204,204);padding-left:1ex"><div dir="ltr">Good catch Michael, since calendar here in brazil starts in january I calculated it wrongly. <br>
Thanks for circulating. No worries about the short deadline.<br>
<br>
Cancun is ICANN67 (changed in the attached). But is there any reason<br>
we're targeting that, rather than Montreal? I thought the rules were<br>
that the ICANN CROP had to be spent first, in which case wouldn't we<br>
want it to be expended as early as possible, to allow maximum<br>
flexibility for the remaining events? I thought FY20 started before<br>
Montreal - but am open to correction on that.<br>

Also, apologies again for the short notice but I guess we all failed a little bit in setting the conversation with the regional GSE teams. Therefore, I am suggesting as our three events up for crop approval 1 Icann meeting (since its mandatory), RightsCon and One last Regional IGF to be defined according to membership selection.<br>
