<div dir="ltr">Dear colleagues,<div><br></div><div>I finished reviewing the applications for the ICANN62 NCUC Fellowship.</div><div><br></div><div>First, I would like to thank all those who applied for this opportunity and I congratulate them for their impressive work and curriculum. </div><div><br></div><div>Second, I would suggest that, for next rounds when we issue a call for applications, we also add a short section on "eligibility criteria to apply for the fellowship" instead of the link as it seems some applicants did not consult our travel policy, <a href="https://www.ncuc.org/get-involved/travel-policy/">https://www.ncuc.org/get-involved/travel-policy/</a></div><div><br></div><div><p style="border:0px rgb(243,243,243);outline:0px;font-size:14px;vertical-align:baseline;background-image:initial;background-position:initial;background-size:initial;background-repeat:initial;background-origin:initial;background-clip:initial;margin:0px 0px 20px;padding:0px;color:rgb(128,128,128);font-family:"Open Sans""><strong style="border:0px rgb(243,243,243);outline:0px;vertical-align:baseline;background:transparent;margin:0px;padding:0px">Eligibility Criteria</strong></p><p style="border:0px rgb(243,243,243);outline:0px;font-size:14px;vertical-align:baseline;background-image:initial;background-position:initial;background-size:initial;background-repeat:initial;background-origin:initial;background-clip:initial;margin:0px 0px 20px;padding:0px;color:rgb(128,128,128);font-family:"Open Sans"">To receive travel support, applicants must be NCUC members in good standing who:</p><ol style="border:0px rgb(243,243,243);outline:0px;font-size:14px;vertical-align:baseline;background-image:initial;background-position:initial;background-size:initial;background-repeat:initial;background-origin:initial;background-clip:initial;margin:0px 0px 20px 30px;padding:0px;list-style-position:initial;color:rgb(128,128,128);font-family:"Open Sans""><li style="border:0px rgb(243,243,243);outline:0px;vertical-align:baseline;background:transparent;margin:0px;padding:0px">Voted in the previous year’s NCUC election, if eligible at the time;</li><li style="border:0px rgb(243,243,243);outline:0px;vertical-align:baseline;background:transparent;margin:0px;padding:0px">Are actively and verifiably engaged in NCUC’s work, for example, constituency governance, NCUC/NCSG policy discussions, or GNSO or cross-community working groups;</li><li style="border:0px rgb(243,243,243);outline:0px;vertical-align:baseline;background:transparent;margin:0px;padding:0px">Need to be at a given meeting because the above-mentioned work will be advanced there;</li><li style="border:0px rgb(243,243,243);outline:0px;vertical-align:baseline;background:transparent;margin:0px;padding:0px">Agree to participate in any NCUC, NCSG and GNSO meetings held during the meeting;</li><li style="border:0px rgb(243,243,243);outline:0px;vertical-align:baseline;background:transparent;margin:0px;padding:0px">Agree to write a brief post-trip blog post for the NCUC website reflecting on the meeting’s main developments of relevance to NCUC;</li><li style="border:0px rgb(243,243,243);outline:0px;vertical-align:baseline;background:transparent;margin:0px;padding:0px">Did not receive NCUC funding to attend the immediately previous ICANN meeting, unless exceptional circumstances require their presence at two consecutive meetings. (Note: this criteria only applies to regular ICANN meetings, as below)</li><li style="border:0px rgb(243,243,243);outline:0px;vertical-align:baseline;background:transparent;margin:0px;padding:0px">Agree to make their own travel, accommodation, visa, and related arrangements and be reimbursed after the trip. This specific member process is something we can ask staff to check w/ NCSG.<br>
The NCSG EC approves members, not NCUC.<br>
<br>
If the majority of EC wants to consider this application, we have to<br>
have this conversation of member approval with NCSG EC. It hasn't been<br>
done before that I know of but it is up to you to ask.<br>
