Exactly. ICANN is
covering the ticket because it is the same price as flying me
to Brussels. The hotel is the Danubius grand hotel
Margitsziget, and it is actually 115 Euros, so 4 nights is 460
Euros. The meeting runs from Sunday night to Tuesday
afternoon, and I arrive in Budapest Sunday morning. Then I am
taking the train across country to Prague, where I fly on a
cheap ticket to Brussels. I am happy to pay for my trip in
between, but if the NCUC feels it could help cover the plane
to Brussels from Prague, which I have not yet purchased but I
understand is less than 200$ US (FCM is finding me cheapest
flight and trains) that would be wonderful.

The purpose of my
going to this meeting is to follow up on the release of the
IWGDPT ICANN paper released March 8, discuss the standards
proposal which I mentioned at the last meeting and which has
been endorsed by the Canadian member of the committee, who is
the standards rapporteur for ISO standards, and to find out
what the Article 29 technical committee is telling ICANN about
he ultimate solution for GDPR (if anything). The Article 29
folks at the IWGDPT meeting usually go straight from this
meeting to the Art 29 meeting. I expect to find at least a
couple of the technical cttee folks at this meeting, and if
not, will try the Chair.

So total ask is 460 Euros for the hotel, or $720.45 Canadian.

Assuming the flight from Prague to Brussels is around $350 C
which is what the cheap flights folks are showing, that would make
it $1070 C. I am hoping FCM can find me something cheaper
though...

cheers and thanks Stephanie
into the next Art. 29 working group meeting?

to report that I have managed to combine my covered
trip to the RDS review team meeting in Brussels
April 15-18, with the next meeting of the Berlin
group (of data commissioners interested in telecom
and IT issues, the ones who just released a paper on
ICANN) in Budapest from April 9-11. This is
immediately prior to the meeting of the Art 29
working group, where Goran says a decision on ICANN

hotel and the trains between the two cities myself,
as I had to book it and get accepted in the meeting
on time. If the NCUC could cover my hotel costs in
Budapest, and any other portion of the travel
expenses it could manage, I would greatly appreciate
it. I believe the expenses for the hotel in
Budapest are 125 euros a night, for four nights. (I
have to kill time between meetings so stayed an
extra night).
