If you have not been involved in policy</span><br style="font-size:12.8px"><span style="font-size:12.8px">discussions, which policy discussion(s) do you want to get involved</span><br style="font-size:12.8px"><span style="font-size:12.8px">with?</span></b><br style="font-size:12.8px"><br>I have been following the NCUC for a while now and oarticipating in the draft comment inputs on google docssuch as the NCUC comments on budget and on the suggestions for Africa outreach webinars. My limitation for participation I believe comes from lack of familiarity with NCUC. However, I have also participated and reported on NCUC regional events led by the Africa Engagement center and the ICANN staff.<div><br></div><div>I am currently studying Masters in Research and Public Policy. I am keen in attending the training on policy writting and especially on NCUC focus issues. I have been involved in the Rights Protection Mechanisms policy as an observer and would like to dig deeper into it. However, of more interest is the ongoing Policy Development Process on Jurisdiction. If I am chosen for this program, I would focus more on reporting on this.<br><div><br><b><span style="font-size:12.8px">2. How much support do you need? Indicate airfare, hotel, visa</span><br style="font-size:12.8px"><span style="font-size:12.8px">expenses (Remember that we want to support as many mentees as</span><br style="font-size:12.8px"><span style="font-size:12.8px">possible, so the less you ask for the more likely you are to receive</span><br style="font-size:12.8px"><span style="font-size:12.8px">funding - of course, it also depends on your motivation letter- and we</span><br style="font-size:12.8px"><span style="font-size:12.8px">don't offer per diem.)</span></b><br style="font-size:12.8px"><br>Unfortunately the fares for airfare seems to be a little high from Nairobi to San Juan; around 1200USD and accomodation of 700 USD. That costs up to 1900 that I would require. I will take care of visa if needed.</div><div><br><b><span style="font-size:12.8px">3. Make it clear that you will spend time and effort and work with a</span><br style="font-size:12.8px"><span style="font-size:12.8px">Buddy/Mentor before, during and after the AGM and will stay engaged or</span><br style="font-size:12.8px"><span style="font-size:12.8px">that you will volunteer to mentor NCUC mentees.</span></b><br style="font-size:12.8px"><br style="font-size:12.8px"><span style="font-size:12.8px">I would love to mentor after the training. I do outreach activities for ICANN wiki and coordinate the Kenya School of Internet Governance where I believe this training will be of great use. I still engage with my coach and always ask here and there for information on how to get more active with ICANN. I plan to extend this kind of relationship to this program because it is critical for my future participation.</span></div><div><br></div><div>Thank you!
