ICANN58 in Copenhagen, where by lucky coincidence the first ever session I attended at the zero day was the one run by NCUC. It’s now, looking back, I understand that it was far from being a simple coincidence but rather a great chance to meet like-minded
people whose passion and expertise made my choice of constituency quite easy. Having joined NCUC in September this year, I am full of determination and willingness to be meaningfully engaged with NCUC and contribute to the discussions. Moving forward, I am
very much interested in more involvement in NCUC work, and, therefore, participation in the upcoming meeting would be extremely valuable for me.</span></span></div>

<span style="font-family:Arial">In October-November 2017, my NGO co-hosted lectures by Adam Peake, Global Civil Society Engagement, and Carlos Alvarez, Director of SSR Engagement. My biggest desire from initiating this was to let Ukrainian youth and professionals
know more about ICANN, its policies and possibilities of getting involved. I also shared my experience about ICANN at Ukrainian Youth IGF.</span></span></div>

and data protection issues while working as an expert for the joint CoE-EU project “Strengthening Information Society in Ukraine”. I’m also putting a lot of efforts into improving the multistakeholder cooperation in my country and region being actively engaged
with SEEDIG, EuroDIG, and RIPE. Apart from that, I’m a member of the organizing committee of the national Ukrainian IGF, of the editorial team for the SEE region monthly newsletter, as well as a founding member of the regional Internet Freedom Network for
Eastern, Central Europe & Eurasia, supported by ABA ROLI.</span></span></span></div>

- I have submitted SOI for Mentee slot on the Onboarding Program.<br>
If accepted, attending the meeting will give me an opportunity to work<br>
closer with assigned mentor.<br>

- Meeting my current working groups.<br>
<br>
- Currently following GNSO RDS PDP WG progress (member).<br>
<br>
- Of interest to me: Universal Acceptance (or lack of), IDN adoption,<br>
most of DNS policy. I would like to know more about ASO and Internet<br>
number resource policy life cycle.<br>
<br>
- Of interest within ICANN: privacy, transparency and ICANN Privacy<br>
Policy compliance across the organization, FOSS wherever possible.<br>
Supporting TTF.<br>

- Diversity within ICANN: having a strong connection between Indigenous<br>
Program and ICANN mission, expanding the program and outreach,<br>
identifying optimal representation. This would require cooperation and<br>
possibly GAC support. Something I am interested to help move forward.<br>

- Diversity within ICANN: I have agreed to work with ICANN wiki towards<br>
inclusion of LBGTQ community. I see this as a natural progress from<br>
gender equality within ICANN, boiling down to acknowledgement and being<br>
excellent to each other working on common goal.<br>

<div>I am very interested in delving deeper into policy discussions and writing as a non-commercial user and this presents a great opportunity to be trained on this skill. I am currently a member of the Next-Gen RDS PDP working group where I try as much as
I can to participate in the on-going discussings and voting exercises. I usually appreciate being thrown in 'deep water and learning to swim', but if there exists some way to learn quicker and smarter, then I believe it must be considered, and that is why
I am sending this application to be considered as a mentee for policy learning. I am also looking for separate funds to attend the ICANN policy forum in Panama, so this training would be a great starter, to enable an even better participation in Panama.<br>

I estimate that my travel will cost the following: Airfare ($1200), hotel ($1130), and visa expenses ($180) but also understand that NCUC only offers a maximum of $2000 per traveler. So if considered, I'll cover the rest of the rest of the cost.</div>

I would like to point out that attending an ICANN meeting is always a good opportunity to meet with great people including mentors, leaders and governments representatives and discuss about key topics for Internet development.<br>

<br>
<font size="4"><b>About policy</b></font><br>
In my particular case it will be another opportunity to meet with participants of the GNSO RDS PDP Working Group of which I am a member. One of my a biggest achievement withinh this WG was to be part, last year, of the data privacy sub-group where I worked
with the team and provide inputs for possible requirements for the next-Gen RDS. Later, I served as liaison between this WG and the NCSG (NCUC included), to share the outreach message 1 and to gather comments from our SG. This year, I was part of the Regulatory
and Contractual Enforcement sub-group and provided inputs for possible data elements that can be collected for this purpose while ensuring user privacy and data protection. I am also, from time to time, involved with new gTLDs subsequent procedures discussions
and about IDNs, too. Moreover, and to demonstrate my willing to contribute more, I applied to join the NCSG policy committee as NCUC appointee in order to help share the workload that keeps increasing due to the number of public comments and policy-related
issues we have to focus on.<br>
In the NCUC, I monitor all policy discussions in order to take into account all points of view that can have impact on the work of the GNSO RDS PDP. I have been quite active in policy discussions and was the penholder for /or contributed to almost five public
comments including Africa DNS Market Study report, DNS abuse report, WS2 report on Diversity, IDNs version 4.0, PTI. Lasy year, I was part of the team that worked and drafted our operational procedures and produced inputs on our Netiquette and the organizations
of outreach events within NCUC. Throughout my active participate, I have demonstrated my interest in the NCUC community and my willing to help anywhere need be. For instance, I joined the onboarding program since its launch and received regular outreach messages,
which I use to share with all newcomers I am familiar to, especially in Africa (translation for french speaking members) in order to help them understand more about the role of the NCUC in policy-making within ICANN. Now, I am part of the program as a buddy
and I am very excited to do more.<br>
<br>
<font size="4"><b>About my stay</b></font><br>
During my stay in Puerto Rico, I will be available to attend every NCUC meeting and any other that will a positive impact on our community. I will also provide a report after the meeting. No doubt that I will stay engaged before and after, and work closely
with any assigned mentor. If needed, I can be rapporteur for few workshops so as to improve our archive and share lessons learned with people who wouldn’t have been able to attend the meeting.

<b><font size="4">About my determination (always)</font></b><br>
Finally, let me confirm that I want to go deeper in ICANN regarding policies discussions. I am very interested about

their full participation and integration in the discussion as main stakeholders. As a result, engaging Arab Internet users in the regional and global debate about Internet Governance first requires building knowledge on the subject.<br id="m_2134704090942126975yiv2011689606yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1513157505117_2298" clear="none">
After My participation in this ICANN I shall work hard to Find ways and means to build capacity in the area of Internet Governance including training programs, workshops and seminar on the Internet Governance, and raise the level of Internet Governance awareness
