Dear Andrea Glandon,

Please find below my application for the travel opportunity advertised in
NCUC mailinglist;

*- Name*: Pascal BEKONO

- *Country*: Yaounde, Cameroon
* -     Contact information (e-mail): *pbekono at gmail.com

*- Short statement explaining why you would like to attend ICANN77
representing the NCUC. Include a mention of which working groups or policy**
discussions you have been involved with and would like to be involved
further. If you have not been involved in policy discussions, which policy
discussion(s) will you become involved with? (please provide links to your
mailing list contributions and your record of attendance in WG meetings).*

I would like to be considered for the travel slot if possible. It would be
extremely beneficial to be present at this policy meeting for several
reasons:

· Firstly, After several participation in ICANN meetings and
discussion groups, I would now like to invest myself and represent the NCUC
in leadership positions within ICANN. And my participation in this
political meeting will allow me to focus on important meetings around
current policies and to meet leaders for better integration. Which is often
not very easy to do remotely. I'd be able to support the NCSG as a whole
wherever it needs to be.

· Second, I have been following the pilot policy development program
and policy transition program, and I would be ecstatic to actually be able
to participate in the meetings face to face at that significant time.

· And thirdly, and most importantly I've been paying very close
attention to Council meetings and on the policies which the council focuses
on thus, I would not miss the chance to be able to engage F2F. I have
actively participated in many ICANN meetings, I am now more willing through
my activities to support council activities.

- *NCSG-Discuss*

- *CPWG*

*- How much time, effort and work will you spend studying policy topics
before, during and after the meeting? And are you willing to stay engaged
or volunteer to mentor future NCSG members*?

I participated in several ICANN meetings as a coach for newcomers. The
fellowship program coordinator, Mrs Siranush, can testify to the quality of
work we have done. And we produced the reports to that effect. It will be
with real pleasure that I will mentor future members of the NCSG; After the
meeting, I will send a report and share that experience during the NCUC
membership call.

- *Confirm that you are ready and attentive to all visa requirements
and*
* other documentation to attend, should you be accept**ed*.

I know the travel procedures with ICANN and the procedures for obtaining
visas. I have already had to obtain a visa for the USA. I have a passport
which makes it easier for me to obtain a visa. And I have the appropriate
travel vaccines.

I remain at your entire disposal to provide you with the information you
suggest necessary.
