Dear All,
Thank you @Andrea  for the update. I believe  Pedro's raising his hand to
serve his region is good enough to have us consider him.

@Ines, thank you for the contribution, it would be great to know your
suggestions on the way forward. Currently, the EC averages 3 members in
recent monthly meetings, and the LAC region has been without an active
representation for as long as I can remember. It is a big gap.

We put out a call for an extended period of time and only one person
volunteered.

It is my understanding that if anyone is willing to volunteer and support
our efforts to increase participation in the region it is a welcome idea.
We will never know if he is capable if we do not give him a chance.

I would like to recommend we give the volunteer a chance to represent the
region, except if there are other interests. We can post his name on the
mailing list and ask members to respond if they have any objections to him
joining the EC.
