<br>

Thank you again for nominating to serve on the 2018 ICANN Nominations<br>

Committee on behalf of NCUC. It is hard work and challenging in many<br>

respects. But it is also valuable and important work and I appreciate<br>

being given the opportunity.<br>

<br>

Attached are two bulletins that provide updates on the work of NomCom<br>

this year. <br>

<br>

This year's NomCom is filling the following positions:<br>

<br>

Three (3) members of the ICANN Board of Directors<br>

<br>

Two (2) representatives to the At-Large Advisory Committee (ALAC) – one<br>

from Europe and one from the North America region.<br>

<br>

One (1) member of theCouncil of the Generic Names Supporting<br>

Organization (GNSO)<br>

Two (2) members of the Council of the Country-Code Names Supporting<br>

Organization (ccNSO)<br>

<br>

At the time of the closing date NomCom received a total of 109 completed<br>

applications distributed as follows: 19 from Africa; 25 from Asia<br>

Pacific; 21 from Europe; 13 from Latin America and the Caribbean; and 31<br>

from North America. There were 33 female and 76 male applicants.<br>

Several applicants applied for more than one position.<br>

<br>

The NomCom will continue to evaluate applicants and a small number of<br>

finalists will be invited to in-person interviews during ICANN 62 in<br>

Panama City where the NomCom will make its final selection of candidates<br>

for the Board, GNSO, ALAC and ccNSO.<br>

<br>

Thanks to all those of you who encouraged others to apply or who applied<br>

yourselves.<br>
