members consult on matters to do with privacy and data
protection. Maybe we could offer them some pointers on who we
think they should be speaking with, and when, and make it clear
that they need to go out and seek the advice of Data Protection
Authorities (DPA). Law enforcement might be proactive, coming to
them — however the onus is on the GAC members to get their
national DPA involved at times.<br>

if the participants are global, I'd suggest we avoid framing
this as a European battle, because the principles that GDPR
encompasses are the same ones which can be found in the OECD
Privacy Framework and the CoE's Convention 108, among other
