Hi everyone,

before and during our meeting marrakech with ICANN board, there was question about the workload within ICANN and the prioritization of those efforts. I indicated in that time that community leaders raised the issue and tried to work on how to make workload more visible, better tracked to be able to prioritize it. you will find below some updates from ICANN staff with that regard, with the reaction of snapshots of all efforts from supporting organizations and advisory committee, asking for feedback. for those interested, please check the link below and share your comments.

Thanks.

Best Regards,

Rafik

I am pleased to share with you the link to the latest community “SOAC Work Effort Inventory Report – ICANN55 Snapshot”. The latest post-Marrakech snapshot, reporting ongoing community work efforts
from all of your communities, can be found here on the ICANN Community wiki -

This latest report lists existing community work efforts collected from your individual staff liaisons. It also reflects form and substance improvement suggestions (e.g., types of information being collected
and displayed) from a number of you after reviewing the post-Dublin Work Effort snapshot. In particular, we have improved the linking capability between the report and each of the individual work effort templates that populate the inventory. We are still experimenting
with how we might accurately collect and track commitments of staff and community time devoted to the various work efforts.

Many of you will recall that this inventory effort is intended to make possible more informed discussions about the work of your individual communities and how those efforts might be synched and/or prioritized
on an organization-wide level. For those who are new to this effort, there is a link to background information on the wiki that accompanies the snapshot.

This document continues to be a work-in-progress and your further feedback on the form, style, breadth and substance of the information is most welcome. I believe specific discussions about the value of the
data collected and how it can best be applied (for information and/or prioritization efforts) need to take place. I have asked David if we can pull the community leader prioritization sub-group back together in the next several weeks to collectively discuss
the value of the information currently being reported and to determine if there is still a path to using the snapshot information for prioritization conversations.

Although this topic is on the preliminary agenda for your call this Tuesday with senior ICANN staff, due to other more urgent items, it is unlikely that we’ll have too much (if any) time to discuss this effort

One of the reasons for only sharing the link information with you this time, rather than the document itself, is get your feedback from a typical community user perspective – as someone who is going directly
to the information via the wiki. We also hope the wiki may also give us a better opportunity for shared dialogue on this effort via the wiki comments space. To expand the opportunity for input, please feel free to share the link with interested members of
your own communities. I’ll be tracking (in the aggregate) page views of the wiki space to gauge when and how often people access the report information and will share those stats with the subgroup.
