This self-nomination ad self-presentation thing is quite funny, but I do realize I am unknown to most of you. I am a relatively new member of NCUC, having joined after the Toronto meeting (where I actually attended as a GAC member, representing Italy). Since then, I have been mostly lurking on the background, trying to learn before daring to have a say. I believe it is now time to get into action.<br>
<br>
Briefly about me: I am an Assistant Professor of Data Journalism at Tilburg University, the Netherlands, and a fellow at the Citizen Lab, University of Toronto, Canada. I am passionate about grassroots participation, and would like to play a more active role in NCUC.<br>
My interest for internet governance dates back to the times of the WSIS. My research touches upon forms, and distortions, of participatory governance, latent policy and policy hacking, mostly concerning the grassroots tech community (which typically remains at the margins of policy processes). I like DIY tech, I am an energetic and enthusiastic organizer, and can operate in different European languages, including Spanish and Portuguese.
