We've opted for the latter, and so I would hereby like to ask Patrick and Peter to send us a couple paragraphs explaining what your vision is for the EC, how you would go about meeting the requirements of the Asian rep. role as specified in the bylaws, and what specific functional tasks (e.g. sort of work we are trying to get moving through the Teams <a href="http://www.ncuc.org/participate/working-teams/" target="_blank">http://www.ncuc.org/participate/working-teams/</a>) you'd be willing to help lead on. Hopefully this will give us a non-arbitrary basis for a decision. If you could get that to us by say mid-August that'd be really helpful. I hope this is ok by you….</div>
<div style="word-wrap:break-word"><br></div><div style="word-wrap:break-word"><i>*Nomcom.</i> When we were asked a couple months ago to identify our candidate for the new Nomcom, many people replies saying Rafik should stay in the position for another year. One person suggested the need for alternative candidates, but no such candidate was identified or came forward subsequently. Accordingly, we will notify ICANN that Rafik shall continue another term as our representative.</div>
<div style="word-wrap:break-word"><br></div><div style="word-wrap:break-word"><i>*NCSG PC.</i> As Mary has joined the ICANN staff, we have to replace her as one of two NCUC reps on the NCSG PC (alongside NPOP reps and Councilors). This is a really important position; we need someone with the time and knowledge base to actively contribute to constituency and stakeholder group positions on substantive issues being considered in the GNSO Council and beyond. In addition, if we do decide to reboot a NCUC PC, as is provided for in our bylaws, I would argue that its members should serve on the NCSG PC as well for coordination purposes. So we have to select someone who's really looking to step up a level or two in their engagement.</div>

Once we know what our options are we can decide how to organize the selection process; in the event there's more than one candidate, I suppose something similar to what we're doing with the Asian EC rep would be likely….</div>
