Who knew that proxies were so rich with legal and ontological conundrums? :-)</div><div><br></div><div>Just saw Bruce's message, below, which pinged my memory. You may recall on the 7 Oct council call I argued for writing with ALAC to request staff preparatory materials from the board meetings and got push back on the grounds that, allegedly like cross community working groups, this would somehow infringe on the council's sovereignty and establish the bad precedent of cooperating with others. So the compromise was that council would make the same request as ALAC but on its own letterhead, as it were.
