Bottom line, based on the experience with the first iteration, we're proposing radical simplification and depoliticization by basically eliminating the two competitive elected slots (except when needed to enhance diversity) and just giving each SG one slot to fill from the pool using whatever internal processes they have. We seem to be in a unique position in regard to the latter, less complicated; the contracted parties are currently saying they need like a month from the close of the call for applications to pick one representative from the relevant sub-set of the pool.
