Hi

I'm on the board of EURALO, a chunk of which (not me, thankfully) spent a great
deal of time going back and forth with staff on the production and distribution
of a single sheet fold-over brochure. After a rather protracted process,
a few folks have now started to drag stacks around to meetings like EuroDIG,
and perhaps this will ultimately lead to some new ALS applications, but one
does have to wonder whether this kind of old school outreach was worth the
effort that went into it relative to other work. In the meanwhile, NCUC
grew enormously over the past year or so largely through Robin's online
outreach.

Our immediate problem isn't to draw in more folks, but rather to consolidate
and more fully engage the ones we already have, in the first instance on the
charter vote. If we can meet the threshold and get the charter passed
ASAP, then sure our media team http://ncdnhc.org/group/mediateam could explore a leaflet
as part of its strategy. But I wouldn't let a piece of paper distract the
whole group from the pressing task at hand.

Two cents,

Bill

charter vote is complete and we know where we are going, that is one of the
reasons I finally want to get on track with the fundraising plans I have put
off because of the amount of work involved in the charter process. While
it is all well and good to look to ICANn for help, we need need to find a way
to fund our own needs, including pamphlets and getting members from developing
regions to the meeting so they can participate fully in the ICANN process.
