Dear all,

This is a call for expression of interest for NCUC representatives on the
NCSG EC.

The NCSG Executive Committee, as indicated by the NCSG Charter, is
responsible for working with the NSCG Chair to make sure the NCSG functions
according to its mission and Principles.

The NCSG EC is responsible for supervising and monitoring the NCSG Chair's
performance of executive functions, establishing and overseeing membership
criteria, rules and procedures, as well as reviewing and approving
applications to form new constituencies.

As by the NCSG Charter, the Non-Commercial Users Constituency (NCUC) can
nominate two (2) representatives to serve on the NCSG EC.

These representatives are chosen by the NCUC EC following a call for
expressions of interest.

The term of NCUC reps on the NCSG EC are usually tied to the calendar year
(judging from previous calls and appointments). Up to the last AGM, Robin
Gross and I (Raphaël Beauregard-Lacroix) were representatives. However, as
per me becoming chair of the NCUC EC following the AGM, I cannot continue
to represent NCUC on the EC of NCSG.

In that sense, there is one currently vacant seat, and whoever is appointed
for that seat will begin their term immediately following the announcement
of the results, that is in advance of a few weeks, compared to the normal
procedure.

The other seat is currently held by Robin. Should she be reappointed, she
will simply continue to execute her duties; otherwise, the person appointed
for her seat would begin their term on 1 January 2021.

Eligibility:

(a) The person should have substantial knowledge about NCSG, its mission
and values, as well as NCUC.

(b) The person should be familiar with NCSG Charter, as well as ICANN
bylaws and GNSO Operating Procedures;

(b) The person should be willing to work in a large, consensus-oriented
committee;

(c) The person should be able to determine the status of members
applications, as well as help administer and maintain membership records;
and

(d) The person should be able to join teleconferences, as well as have
weekly availability to dedicate to NCSG-EC dedicated mailing list and also
membership approval process;

As you gather from the criteria above, applicants for this position should
be active members of NCUC, involved with ICANN and its various working
groups, show proven interest in NCUC work, and understand the dynamics of
ICANN and groups existing within ICANN.

Your expression of interest should include a written statement indicating
how you fulfill the criteria mentioned above, with specific references to
your experience at NCUC. Statements should be submitted to chair at ncuc.org,
with maryam.bakoshi at icann.org and brenda.brewer at icann.org in cc, by 23
November 2020, 23:59 UTC. The NCUC EC will then deliberate and the name of
the successful applicant will be posted on the NCUC mailing list, latest on
27 November 2020.
