[NCUC-DISCUSS] Revising the NCUC Bylaws

Hi Arun

It’d be really great if you could help out. As I explained in my 8 August message

*The Bylaws Team mail list has been reactivated so people who want to join can subscribe at http://lists.ncuc.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/bylaws <http://lists.ncuc.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/bylaws>. People who subscribed previously but are not longer interested can unsubscribe.

*Maryam will reinstate the team at http://www.ncuc.org/participate/working-teams/ <http://www.ncuc.org/participate/working-teams/>

*The last version that we played with in 2012 is at https://docs.google.com/document/d/1eMYs3_odaFN01piVcvMAuxAu_nJyqX2oGYK1o10QuIU/edit <https://docs.google.com/document/d/1eMYs3_odaFN01piVcvMAuxAu_nJyqX2oGYK1o10QuIU/edit>. You could work off of the latter, or simply start over with a clean slate, whichever. It might make sense to begin by working in “Comment Mode” so you don’t disturb the text until some consensus has been reached. The working text should be compared with the existing version at http://www.ncuc.org/governance/bylaws/ <http://www.ncuc.org/governance/bylaws/> and the NCSG Charter at https://community.icann.org/display/gnsononcomstake/Charter <https://community.icann.org/display/gnsononcomstake/Charter> for conformity, as this was finalized a couple years after.

*Yes if we can progress it in the next two months I’ll schedule a chunk of time during Constituency Day in Dublin to talk through proposed changes and see what gets consensus.

*It would probably be easiest if someone were to step forward and offer to serve as Coordinator as with other teams, make sure the conversation is progressing and proposed changes and areas of dis/agreement are kept track of.

Thanks

Bill
