Remmy, since NIRA is a member of the ccNSO, did you contact Lesley Cowley (ccNSO Council chair) and the ICANN ccNSO staff to let them know and see if ICANN can assist?

Cheers
Mary

Hi Wilson, I am sure you got my initial mail. Lanre Ajayi is on GNSO council as you noted and my mail read NIRA delegate. And for your information NIRA is the official managers of ccTLD in Nigeria, its official delegation were denied visa. At the moment, Ajayi is an ICANN delegate officially as a member of the GNSO council and respected NIRA stakeholder.

As I speak to you no official NIRA representative got visa, even our president that is resident in Abuja was not given. Give me the name of the Nigerian who is attending with you.

Of course if NIRA does not follow official processes, who will in this case?

Not sure if this is entirely true becauseI came with an ICANN Nigerian colleague today, who got his visa effortlessly from Abuja. Did your friends follow the official processes and present the necessary documentation correctly?

Regards,
Wilson

Dear all,

Nigeria will be missing in the forthcoming ICANN public meeting in China, as the Chinese embassy here in Nigeria refused Nigerians entry visa, including the official representation from the Nigeria Internet Registration Association (NIRA), the manages of .ng ccTLD.
