Hi All,

I'm happy to welcome you to the NCUC AP mailing list!

I believe this is the first email to be sent to all members on the
list, so welcome all, and looking forward to our exchanges.

In advance, sorry for cross-posting, however it is imperative that I
share with you a couple of opportunities that are coming our way. I
will follow up with the second opportunity in another email, shortly.

The first opportunity for us to further engage is *"The Onboarding
Program"* which connects experienced Mentors to Mentees from
Constituencies and Advisory Committees. NCUC was a founding member of
the pilot program and now we seek a New Mentee to join us!

As some might know, the *Onboarding Program* aims at helping Members
of NCUC (newcomers or longtime members) engage more deeply in the
policy-making process of ICANN.

For more details on the program, kindly check the end of this email or
visit this link: https://www.icann.org/news/announcement-2017-11-20-en

*If you are interested in this opportunity, please do send in your
application before Dec 8 to raquino at gmail.com <raquino at gmail.com> and
maryam.bakoshi at icann.org <maryam.bakoshi at icann.org>. Kindly make sure
to include:*

1. A summary of your background and areas of experience,

2. Your areas of interest in policy development of ICANN, and

3. Your work-to-date in policy development at ICANN, including what

4. Working Groups you are have joined (as a member or observer) and
what comments you have written (in whole or participated in).

Any and all questions about the program are encourages, so please do
not hesitate to reach out if need be!

Warm regards,

Elsa

*ICANN61 Call for Nominations*: *Community Onboarding Pilot Program
Call for Nominations by SOs/ACs*

ICANN is pleased to announce the call for nominations for the
Community Onboarding Pilot (COP) Program for ICANN61. The COP seeks to
improve ICANN community newcomer engagement and retention rates
through mentorship and knowledge and experience sharing.

Interested Supporting Organizations (SOs) and Advisory Committees
(ACs) should nominate two representatives: one individual shall serve
in the role of mentor and the other in the role of mentee.

The program defines a mentor as an experienced member of the community
best suited to share knowledge of and experience in ICANN. A mentee is
defined as a relatively new member of the community who has
demonstrated both the potential and desire to actively engage and
participate in ICANN’s advice and policymaking activities.

The COP can accommodate up to three participants from each community.

Both the process and the decisions concerning the selection of program
participants will be determined by each respective community. COP
participants are expected to contribute in the following ways:

Actively participate in calls and discussions leading up to ICANN61

Attend face-to-face meeting on 10 March 2018 in Puerto Rico

Develop materials and tools to support community newcomers

Engage in capacity development activities

Share knowledge and experience
