<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left:36.0pt"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:#1f497d" lang="EN-NZ">My simplistic outreach strategy: ICANN constituencies and SGs better reflecting the diversity of the community they purport to serve – bringing in more of the multiple stakeholders and diverse voices. I’d start with where the gaps are in those voices and then begin taking initiatives and steps in those directions. One or two budget requests that support a clear, transparent strategy (that is not patronage based, but makes some choices about where to start), seems feasible. <u></u><u></u></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left:36.0pt"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:#1f497d" lang="EN-NZ">In relation to something in conjunction with an ICANN meeting – I’m currently exploring ways to better link human rights advocates and the technical community in other areas in APC. Here, perhaps a thematic side event to an ICANN meeting on specific human rights topics we know are topical in ICANN and timely given current PDPs etc would be useful – such as the WHOIS policy and law enforcement issues. I’d prefer this kind of event, rather than invited ambassadors or ‘future leaders’ (which can easily be patronage based).<u></u><u></u></span></p>
